Tara Belmont
Tara Belmont is an emerging artist and fashion designer from Sydney, Australia that is currently living in England, United Kingdom. Her creative journey began early - in 2013, her final-year acrylic-on-canvas series was selected for ARTEXPRESS (above), a prestigious exhibition showcasing exemplary works by students from across New South Wales.
IIn 2018, Tara completed a Bachelor of Fashion and Textiles Design at the University of Technology Sydney. Her graduate collection, Blurred, was inspired by her equestrian roots, a commitment to sustainability, and a desire to challenge social constructs through design. Since her graduate collection ‘Blurred’, she led the creation of a sustainable performance team kit in collaboration with and for British Olympian, Laura Tomlinson. The Tara Belmont X Laura Tomlinson collaboration balanced environmental responsibility with high functionality, and remains a reflection of Tara’s values as both a designer and artist. Guided by a deep love for animals, the natural world, and conservation, Tara’s artistic practice explores colour, emotion, and connection to the environment. She specializes in watercolour and gouache, acrylics, and oil painting, with a particular passion for capturing the unique character of beloved pets — bringing them to life on paper with expressive detail.
Tara previously worked alongside Caryn Hibbert at Thyme England and Bertioli by Thyme as Product Development Manager, contributing to a range of nature-inspired, sustainable design projects. In 2025, her commissioned series of watercolour birds — inspired by the water meadows at Thyme — was featured alongside Bertioli by Thyme launched Water Meadow Collection in the prestigious WOW! House exhibition at Chelsea Harbour.
Now working primarily on a commission basis as both an artist and designer, Tara continues to explore themes of sustainability and mindful practices through her creative process.
